‘Mississippi Mills’ Wastewater Treatment Plant
Councillor Jane Torrence will speak about the Mississippi Mills’ development of its Wastewater Treatment Plant and the good news story it brings for the communities of Almonte, Pakenham and Ramsay. Mississippi Mills’ is a Town made up of a group of communities very similar to the Town of Erin with a population of just over 13,000. This new wastewater treatment plant showcases some of the most modern and advanced treatment technology in North America and also offers a septage receiving facility which will serve their community’s needs through to 2031. Mayor John Levi said that the new plant sets the stage for future development and expansion of the town. “It gives us pride as it is one of the most modern facilities and in the top five in all of Ontario as it is built to the latest technology”. Councillor Torrence will talk about the new opportunities and positive impact the wastewater facility has had on their communities since its construction. Including an increase in new business and development which has enabled the Town to continue to grow and thrive.
